LOOK OF THE WEEK / FIRST POST OF AUTUMN 2020/
Autumn is here and so is the rain ,wind and gloomy weather. Don’t get me wrong, I am not complaining but I am COMPLAINING!!!! Last two days have been quite non productive for me. Weather has such an impact on our psyche. Please tell me it happens with you guys as well? I hope I am not alone feeling all grumpy because the temperatures have dropped and there is not a single ray of sunshine *quite literally*
But, there is no doubt about the fact that A/W is a great time for fashion. I, myself quite enjoy winter dressing, layering and being all cozy. So, I am kick starting my styling series with this quite simple yet efficient number. Repurposing my summer midi dress and layered it with an oversized ‘dad’ sweater vest which PSA is huge trend this season. If you are interested then I will link few of my favourite sweater vests available on the high street stores. But, if you still now sure of investing in one then raid your dad’s closet, he would definitely have something similar or check a thrift store for a bargain.
Styling something vintage looking with more ‘on trend’ pieces gives your outfit that chic value and it doesn’t look dated. That’s what I have done here, Since, the dress is quite modest and quite retro looking, I layered it with white oversized vest which is from Zara (last year). For accessories I went with this navy coloured ruched elasticated belt which I thrift-ed long back and these chunky chunky boots. These boots are a recent purchase from H&M (unfortunately out of stock), but I have linked few similar ones for you all.
I would need one more layer as the temperature drops further. I find this midi dress by a sustainable brand called Saint+ Sofia, quite versatile. I could layer this dress easily with leggings and a coat on top. Their pieces may be on a higher price point but you will find your cost per wear as the clothes are so versatile and of really good quality.
