Monthly Favourites !!! May Edition
This blog is just my way of bringing you cumulative monthly favourites. It will be combination of beauty, fashion & lifestyle. Now, we are moving forward into our ‘new normal’, I though of starting it with sharing my list of few favourites.
Skincare
May was a month of trying new skincare and falling in love with few existing ones.
Elemis Pro Collagen Cleansing Balm
Cleansing balm is the first step of a cleansing process. As the name suggests, it’s a balm(semi solid form) which turns into a oil with your body temperature, emulsifies when in contact with water. This in turn helps to break down your makeup, effectively and without stripping your face of moisture!
It contains active ingredients like Elderberry oil, which contains high levels of essential fatty acids.
Starflower oil, which is richest source of natural gamma linolenic acid that helps in maintaining skin metabolism. Padina Pavonica, which has anti-aging benefits.
PS I love indulging in cleansing balms because it feels luxurious and you can take your time and give yourself a facial massage there.
Kiehl’s Cannabis and Sativa oil (cleanser + hemp seed oil)
CBD oil has gain popularity in the recent years to be used in over the counter skincare. Hemp seed oil is known to reduce inflammation, helps in calming down skin irritation and also helps in reducing acne scars over time. This was my first time trying out CBD for my skin.
I usually don’t suffer from acne but skin does get irritated at times. These two help to tackle texture on my skin and the oil helps to create that barrier during harsh winters. Hemp seed oil is also a great humectant which means it attracts moisture to your skin and helps to keep it plump.
Fragrance
Love for candles is back. I like having candles around my house. It’s that feeling of calm after long day of work. Weather mostly is quite gloomy where is reside. So, burning candles helps me fight the ‘not so happy weather’ plus it helps my house smelling good!
I usually have good mix of high end candles and affordable ones around. And my go-to place for affordable candles is Primark Home. The one I am loving atm, is clean cotton from Primary Home. As the name suggests, it smells like freshly washed linen. And I FREAKING LOVE THAT SMELL!!!!
H&M HOME and ZARA HOME are my next two favourites places for affordable candles.
Jewellery by Ana Luisa
Last month I bought a 14k solid gold necklace from Ana Luisa, a sustainable jewellery brand. Since this year started, I have been lookout for sustainable jewellery brands. I was researching the internet. I came across this brand, read their story and instantly fell in love with their jewellery designs. They are dainty but not dated. They are a prefect amalgamation of classic yet modern designs. Also, they gold they use is recycled gold.
