You don’t always need a new outfit to look amazing, all you need are some basics in your closet and you are sorted! And one such basic piece is an oversized shirt (you might steal it from your Dad’s/Boyfriend’s/Husband’s closet, doesn’t really matter!)
If you have been following me on my social media you must know by now that I am all about having basic pieces in my closet because they are so versatile, you can dress them up or dress them down the way you like it.
In this blog I will be telling you 4 different ways to style your oversized shirt. So keep on reading.
1. Layering-Most of the time people shy away from layering their clothes, but layering makes your outfit stand out from the crowd. One such example is layering your oversized shirt on that boring tunic or dress which you have already worn many times.
It gives whole new perspective and dimension to your outfit. As I have done with my plain tunic dress from Forever21 and layered it with my husband’s formal shirt. By doing this you give it a more defined look, I accessorized it with a slim belt. I completed the look with simple side braid and ankle boots.
2. Button up backwards-because buttoning it up front is too mainstream! 😉
This might be little unconventional but why to shy away from experimenting?
Experimenting with your clothes is the key to new ideas. This look is kept really simple ,with buttoning the shirt backwards and pairing it with basic black leggings and chunky statement jewelery.
3.Not too shabby Formal-In this look, I paired a white shirt with grey pencil skirt and tied the shirt in the form of bow. You can pair it with a black blazer to give it a more put together look.
4. Snazzy ‘overalls’– Overalls are my new found love! Giving it a twist I paired it with a white shirt and since I was feeling little more adventurous I layered it up with a formal shirt from my Husband’s closet.
So, these were some ways to wear your oversized shirt. You should keep experimenting with staples in your closet and you will find out what works for you, which will reflect your personality.
